Open Invitation to Paint at The Art Center
Short on studio space? Bring some friends and use our space to paint! Bring your latest project and supplies. Beginners to advanced - just enjoy the company of other artists in a creative environment! Open Studio is available 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Sunday. Just call the Art Center to see if space is available.

Private Painting Class
Is your Sunday School class or “group of friends” looking for something to do as a group? How about a Private Painting Class. Each Participant will receive an 11”x14” canvas panel, acrylic paints, and one and a half hours of painting instruction. You may bring snacks for your guests, have a potluck snack., or order pizza. Cost $20 per person.

ART BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Have a birthday party with a different theme, ART. Birthday parties at the Art Center are generally scheduled for two hours and include art instruction plus all materials for one and a half hours. The host may then serve birthday cake, etc. Instead of the usual goodie bag, each guest goes home with an original 11”x14” acrylic painting as a souvenir of the party at the Center. Simply Zentangle for ages 15 to adult with Terry Hall and Lauren Vasquez Zentangle Method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It’s a form of a healing and meditative art, very therapeutic. It helps increase your fo-cus, creativity, relaxation, concentration, self-esteem and so much more. You don’t draw? Don’t consider yourself an artist? Well, there is no artistic talent needed! We will show you how simple it is. There are only 4 elemental strokes to make these beautiful designs. To keep the “Zen” philosophy of the class we ask that you keep your small children and babies at home. Class is on Saturday from 11 to 1 p.m. Class dates: August 4th. Cost is $35, which includes your materials. Pre-registration is required for our classes so please be sure to call us to reserve your spot in our class. We will not be at the art center unless someone has registered for the class. PAINT! Acrylic painting made easy with Toni Lott A fun class for ages 12 to 95. Learn basic techniques of composition, brush techniques, mixing colors, finishing details and more. Classes are on Saturdays from 1-4 p.m. Class dates: August 4, 11, 18 & 25th. Cost is $20.00 for the 3 hour session with all supplies provided for an 11 x 14 painting. Drawing for Colored Pencil and Graphite -Intermediate- Summer Madness with Carol Bradshaw This is a 6 week mini-course of three hour paired classes in colored pencil or graphite. This group of paired classes is for individual choices of subjects! The first of the paired classes develops the layout drawing from your reference photo and the second completes the drawing by adding the values and textures and color. Classes are on Tuesdays from 9-12 p.m. Class Dates: Au-gust 7, 14 & 21st. No classes on August 28th. Cost is $150 for the 6 week course, or $ 25 per 3 hour class. Supply list with registration. Drawing Animals – Dragons, Monkeys and Snakes & Lizards - Intermediate with Carol Bradshaw This is a structured series of 6 hour classes in graphite continuing the development of the basic drawing skills and elements of composition into completed drawings. This se-ries is on drawing and shading animals and texture techniques for fur and feathers and scales. Classes are paired with the first class completing the contour layout drawing and the second developing the fur or feathers and other details. This is your chance to brush up on your animal drawing skills!
Classes will be Tuesdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Subject dates: Monkeys- July 24 & August 7, Snakes/Lizards August 14 & 21. No class August 28th. “Painting with Julie”, with Julie Fleming This is a mixed media class for adult beginners and intermediate painters who work in, or are interested in oil, watercolor or acrylic. The class motto, "No Mistakes in Art", expresses the stress level of this class. Classes are on Mondays from 12 to 3 p.m. Class dates: August 13, 20 & 27th. No class August 6th. Create Your Own Art Class - with Rebecca Haigh. This is your chance to work on the project of your choice with individualized instruction as needed! Classes are for beginning and intermediate students. All types of styles and media are encouraged, along with your own pic-tures and supplies. “Playfully- a class in exploratory line and color” with Phyllis Learn how to develop a sensitive gestural line to enrich your understanding of form and to add a feeling of freedom to your work. Beginning Watercolor VI with Carol Brad-shaw: This is the sixth in a structured series of six 3-hour classes, for the person who has never painted in watercolor before, or for those who wish to brush up on the basics. Basic washes, brush strokes and some special techniques are covered. A new color palette will be added.
