Kathy Miller is known for her fresh, loose and colorful watercolor paint-ings. Formerly of Shafter, and still a BAA member, Kathy returns to her home arena with wonderful new paintings. Her work transcends the ba-sic skills to find the spirit of the subject matter before her. She feels that paintings should go beyond the mere duplication of the scene to include the energy and sense of the location, including weather and mood. Her works demonstrate outbursts of energetic, instinctive gestures with the brush. Believing art may be found in everyday life, Kathy has been in-spired to explore the practice of plein air painting almost exclusively.
