PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

We are having another great Kern County Fair. Your art work is spectacular!! Thanks to Joyce Ogborn for all of her work and to all of her volun-teers. I heard today that the volunteer is becoming a thing of the past. As our younger generation comes on, they are so busy working, raising fami-lies and traveling that there are not enough of the "old" volunteers to do the work. I hope this is not the "true trend", we have so many organizations that only exist because of volunteers. So, thank you again to all of our volunteers for all of your time and help.

We will have another show at the Gallery this next month, Valley Scenes. It is sponsored by the BAA through the efforts of Charlotte White. Check it out and get your work in. The reception will be on the second Friday of the month from 4pm to 7pm. Come to enjoy good friends, great art and fantastic food.

The board meetings continue to be held at Schilling Art Studio, the first Wednesday of the month at 6pm. You are always invited to come. We try to get as much business done at these meetings as possible, then you can have more time to enjoy the programs at the general meetings. So, if you have any new business that you need discussed, please, call me and come on Wednesday, Oct. 1st.

Be sure to get ready for the holidays, and re-member that we will need more sitting at the Gal-lery. Work with Joyce, so she can get the sitting chart done as soon as possible.

See you at the next general meeting October 11th at 9am featuring Judy Deems, muralist.

Kathy Schilling
President
